If you’re over 50, sharing programmed activities with others of a similar age will keep you active and motivated. Exercising in a group is much more enjoyable than exercising on your own. Exercising as a group has been proven to help with motivation. And it encourages you to stay with the program longer. You’ll enjoy the company of other like-minded people, and be supervised by qualified instructors who understand your needs. Your exercises will be appropriate for your level of fitness and ability, and you can absolutely rely on being given the right advice.
- LIVING LONGER LIVING STRONGER: A gym program for strength, flexibility and balance for older adults.
- PRYME MOVERS: This aerobic class uses weights, bands, and chairs for a fun cardio and strength workout. Targeted at people aged 55 and over.
- YOUNG AT HEART SENIORS: This light aerobic class uses Swiss Balls weights and bands for a fun workout which helps improve all aspects of daily living from balance and coordination to strength and endurance. Targeted for people aged 65 and over.
- ACTIVE HEARTS - A gentle physical activity program suitable for anyone who hasn't done any exercise in a while. You can exercise at your own pace in a friendly atmosphere. Active Hearts is open to everyone and is designed to be safe for people with stable long term health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes or obesity.

LIFT FOR LIFE - Coming to RecWest June 19 2018
We are very excited to announce we will be adding a new program to the current pryme movers timetable.
‘Lift for Life’ is specifically designed by the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute along with Deakin University and Fitness Australia to significantly improve the lives and symptoms of older adults living with or at risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes as well as a assisting those with cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and other common issues associated with aging.
This program is ideally suited to people who are unsure or uncomfortable using the gym on their own. By participating you will be supervised and motivated by a highly qualified trainer and will gain valuable skills and experience in using the gym safely and effectively and be able to use the gym independently in the future.
Sessions will be held every Tuesday & Thursday from 1-2pm with the first intake commencing Tuesday 19th June.
